This building is used to stage equestrian events and training and practice during times of inclimate weather. The extent of our work included design of a foundation to support a 14,000 square foot single story pre-fabricated metal building. Foundation was concrete walls and piers designed to support vertical and lateral loads. The arena could not be designed with a concrete slab to resist the "kick-out" force of the steel frame, so concrete beams buried under the dirt surface of the arena were designed to stabilize the foundation. Condon has a 100 psf snow load and is located in seismic zone 3.
