Troy is an expert in structural theory and construction management. He is experienced in commercial, industrial, educational, medical, high-end residential, athletic and historic renovation buildings. He designs steel, cast-in-place concrete, pre-stressed concrete, aluminum, stressed-skin panel, wood, timber, log, and FRP structures or components of structures. Troy is in charge of structural engineering, engineering licensing, project scheduling, continuing education, and technical publications for the firm. Outside the office Troy enjoys spending time with his family and is a member of the renowned Eclipse Engineering soccer team.

Rolf Armstrong, P.E., Principal Bend, OR Office

Rolf has a wide range of expertise with various types of structures, including architectural and industrial engineering design. He has extensive experience with residential and commercial structures, but has also had the opportunity to be involved with unique projects including dam bulkheads, sheet pile design, timber bridges, fiberglass towers - projects which take an “outside-the-box” approach to solving the problems at hand. Rolf is the branch manager of our office in Bend, Oregon. He is a licensed Civil Engineer in 23 states. Rolf lives in Bend, OR with his wife Julie, daughter Isabelle, son Sam, and dogs Bridger and Mehlie. He takes full advantage of all the outdoor activities that Oregon has to offer and when he’s not in a boat or at the office he’s probably splitting wood or working on his house.

Brian Hanson, P.E., Principal Spokane, WA Office

Brian’s experience includes the structural analysis of residential, commercial, educational, and religious structures. His design experience includes: masonry, steel, wood, pre-cast, and cast in place concrete. Brian uses his understanding of construction practices and tendencies to make the construction administration phase of the project go as efficiently as possible. Brian works closely with each project manager to ensure the overall structural intent of the design through the final construction. Brian is co-captain of the Eclipse golf team, whose dedication to the sport propelled them to a victory in the 2006 mens league at King Ranch. His family includes his wife Kari, two sons, and two dogs.

Jesse Fortune, P.E. Principal Missoula, MT Office

Jesse is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Montana. His skills in the design of steel, concrete, wood, masonry, and fiber reinforced polymer structures are a valuable asset. He enjoys working closely with clients to help assure that their expectations are being met or surpassed. Jesse is active in professional organizations. He is a member of the Timber Framers Guild and is currently serving a term as vice President of the Structural Engineers Associations of Montana. When not at the office, Jesse spends as much time as possible with his wife and two daughters. In the summer months he loves to play golf; in the winter months he dreams of playing golf.

Gretchen Iman, P.E., Principal Missoula, MT Office

Gretchen started working for Eclipse after graduation and has worked on various projects including several schools, a variety of commercial projects, and many residential projects. She is currently the firm’s bridge engineer and is responsible for government proposals. Gretchen is a LEED accredited professional (green building design) by the USGBC, and is the Missoula area vice president for Montana ASCE. When she’s not at work, Gretchen plays soccer for the Eclipse co-rec soccer team, golfs when it is sunny and warm, and enjoys the physical demands of fantasy football.

Ben Powell, Principal Missoula, MT Office

Ben graduated with an Associate degree in Mechanical Drafting from Westwood College of Technology in Denver Colorado in March 2001. After graduation he was employed by Roscoe Steel and joined the Eclipse team in 2002. He has quickly become an incredibly talented CADD manager and drafting department supervisor. Ben loves to fish and hunt and is almost as avid about chasing after birds as his trusty lab Clark.
When he’s not in the office, he’s hooking into steelhead or whipping up a batch of jerky in the smoker.

Nick Burnam P.E Bend, OR Office

Nick started his career in Montana during the summer of 1998. While in Montana, Nick worked primarily on high-end residential projects involving log and timber frame structures. In December of 2002, Nick earned his P.E. and followed his career down to Florida where he had the opportunity to analyze structures for commercial, institutional, educational, warehouse and residential uses. These buildings were constructed with different materials including: wood, masonry, structural steel, steel bar joist, cast-in-place concrete, and tilt-up concrete. In June of 2006, Nick made the move back out West to Eclipse Engineering in Bend, Oregon. Nick lives in Bend, OR, where he is closer to family and old friends and happy to be hiking and fishing.

Lynn Gmeiner, E.I.T. Missoula, MT Office
B.S. Civil Engineering, University of Washington, 1999
Lynn received his BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington in 1999 while working full time as lab manager for the UW structural research laboratory. After graduating, he worked as a structural engineer for Sturdy Engineering Corp. in Mt. Vernon Washington for 1 1/2 years, then for Shear Engineering Corp. in Fort Collins Colorado for 3 1/2 years. Lynn joined the staff at Eclipse Engineering, Inc. as an EIT in September of 2004.
Lynn enjoys spending time with his family and outdoors, especially skiing and golfing.

Jennifer Brandt Reno, NV
A.S. Drafting (Architectural CADD), Westwood College of Technology, 2001
Jennifer received her AS in Drafting from Westwood College of Technology in 2001. She came to work right after college to Eclipse and has became a part of the Eclipse drafting team. When Jennifer moved to California in 2007, Eclipse kept her on staff by creating a remote drafting position, where she mainly serves the Bend and Spokane offices. Jennifer continues to be a valuable asset to the Eclipse team.
Jennifer has recently moved to the Reno area, where she is filling all of her spare time with her pursuit of a degree in engineering.
