BLRB Architects and Eclipse Engineering, Inc. win Hammurabi Honor Award

BLRB Architects and the Bend office of Eclipse Engineering, Inc. have won the 2013 Hammurabi Design Award for the BLRB-designed Bend Neurological Associates Building.

The Masonry and Ceramic Tile Institute of Oregon presents the Hammurabi award every two years to Oregon- and Washington-based firms whose designs and building specifications make prominent use of masonry.

According to the judges, BLRB and Eclipse have created “a thoughtful design, successfully executed.” The Bend Neurological Associates Building consists of “a successful integration of brick, CMU, metal panels and aluminum-framed glazing. Building massing and geometry are nicely supported by CMU plinth, brick patterning, surface recesses and color variations and the careful alignment of masonry elements with metal and fenestration.”
